Ite, so I get asked almost everyday what I use to make my beats? Well I'mma tell you briefly what I'm using as of today..
The Nerve Center -
Akai MPC 2000XL + ZIP DISKS/FLOPPY DISKS (no media card upgrade we keeps it like the hood keeps it.)
(I call this piece the nerve center, as opposed to my computer being it because the MPC is what I run my sounds through, sequence with, build midi parts etc with... I do finally run everything out into Reaper though to mix stuff down but anyone who has a MPC will know its the Doomsday Device of your production arsenal.)
What Speakers?
KRK RP5 Monitors + Aurlex joints underneath it cause I got those phat kicks.
(Honestly these monitors aren't the best monitors, nor are they the ones I'd love to own, however they're what I bought and I still got love for them. They do the job.)
Turntable?
Got a reallllly bad ION joint which you don't want to know about. TRUST ME!
(Nothing to add... yeah literally, it's a belt drive usb joint, why would I speak on it.... but it does get the job done though.)
What DAW?
I use Reaper, been known to use Logic as well on occasions.
Microphone?
Rode NT1A Condenser joint which sounds pretty dope.
(Recently upgraded to this from the Behringer B2 pro, both budget mics however I believe this one sounds much better for hip hop vocals.)
Interface?
I use a Presonus Audiobox USB (player haters eat a joint no homo)
(Decent interface for the price it costs, would recommend it to cats on a budget looking for good pre-amps and a dependable interface also very easy to use.)
